The Technical Preview of Halo Infinite is All About Bots

The first technical preview of Halo Infinite will be mainly focused on bots.

The coming Halo Infinite technical preview is the first step towards an open beta. 343 Industries will conduct a series of tests and previews to ensure the game launches on time. Although the game`s developers welcome any feedback, the main purpose of the tests is to “test and stress the technical aspects” of Halo Infinite.

The Halo Waypoint blog described the team`s overall strategy to fly and betas, but also said that the team will focus on testing on technical aspects and bots.

The focus areas of the technical test include:

  1. Arena gameplay against. Bots
  2. Arena Maps
  3. Academy`s Weapon Drills
  4. Menu and Battle PassUI
  5. New Waypoint experiences available on websites, iOS, and Android

The zones will be tested with the Bot Arena playlist, which is a match between four players and four bots on Arena Maps, Bazaar Recharge, Live Fire, and Recharge. The technical test will be easy to allow players to get comfortable with the game as well as the bots. Howeverit will become more difficult as time passes.

Halo Infinite includes a Weapon Drills feature that helps you get up-to-speed and familiar with certain weapons. You can also try it during the testing phase. In this test, you can get the MA40 AR and MK50 Sidekick along with the CQS48 Bulldog, Needler, as well as eight additional weapons. The developers kept things interesting by publishing their Weapon Drills high scores internally, and they`ve now asked the fans to follow suit.

Also discussed in the blog were the game`s battle pass, challenges, and customization systems. The test will gauge how user-friendly the UI is, and whether players can effortlessly navigate specific sections. A few accounts invited to participate will be given a set amount of game credits to play the battle pass system, but no items that are unlocked will carry over to the final game.

Joseph Staten, Head of Creative for Halo Infinite gave us a glimpse of the bots` behavior. “ODST and Spartan Bots will effectively dodge grenades and rockets (Recruits and Marines do not),” they said. All Bots utilize tools. More advanced Bots can Grappleshot you and end you by killing you with melee (I`ve observed this happening with Energy Swords, which is incredible and terrifying). Bots monitor power weapon spawns , and will sprint to take them. But most importantly: Bots are fair; we do not alter their health or damage values based on difficulty levelsThe bots just get smarter and more resourceful the higher you get.”
