Enjoy Your Lawn in the Summer with Outdoor Pest Control

Pesky Insects Interrupt Summer Fun

There are many ways to enjoy your lawn in the summer, but one of the most important things to do is use outdoor pest control. Pests can wreak havoc on a green lawn and make it difficult for you to enjoy your yard. Make sure that you have an effective insecticide or natural spray for any bugs that might try and invade your grassy sanctuary this summer!

When summer arrives, the warm sun and balmy evenings are perfect for spending time outdoors. One of the most common outdoor activites is enjoying a good book on your lawn chair while basking in the sunshine. However, when you have pesky insects crawling around your feet or flying into your drink, it`s hard to relax and enjoy yourself!

From Mosquitos to spiders nothing annoys me more than trying to spend time outdoors and be bitten by insects. It does not stop there eighter, those same and other bugs feed on my garden and fruit trees. The solution is measured and targeted pest control. As a mom it is important to me that my child is protected without using too many harsh chemicals.

One of the simplest and low-cost options is a citronella candle. Citronella has been used for generations as an insect repellant, it works by masking our natural body odor which attracts pests like mosquitoes and flies. Another option is to contact an experienced exterminator.

Organic Solutions

There are several organic lawn and garden Do-It-Yourself solutions, however when it comes to the mosquito its time to call in the big guns. Last year we installed a misting system while my neighbor has their lawn treated once per month to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Both seem to work well.

How to Find a Pest Exterminator

One of the best ways to find a pest control company is to search online. Put in your locality and then “pest control” into Google. You can also contact the local health department for their recommendations on pest control, or ask friends who they use to see if there is a good referral option.

Here are 5 outdoor pests an exterminator can treat your lawn for, all of which can be a nuisance if not dealt with:

-Mosquitoes

-Ticks

-Ants and other crawling bugs like spiders, earwigs and roaches.

-Raccoons/Opossums (or “pests”)

-Rats and mice (Rodents)
